My Thoughts
So... I Met a Demon is the third short story in Paul McAvoy's So... I Met series. The series is written for young adult readers, and while I feel So... I Met a Demon was a little too young for me, I definitely think it could be too scary for younger kids.
The book summary perfectly describes the plot of So... I Met a Demon. The book begins with an 8 year old Ben who is riding his bike near the aptly named Spook House. He comes across a strange girl who is trapped on the property. The book follows Ben as he grows up and tells of his efforts to save the girl who only appears at the Spook House once a year.
I definitely think So... I Met a Demon would be a fun read for pre-teens who enjoy the paranormal or horror genres. One thing I thought could be better was the dialogue. The way Ben spoke seemed to old for his age and the conversations between the characters seemed a bit unnatural.
